Wen-Wei Ong | Trauma-Informed Practitioner & Mentor

I'm Wen-Wei, a trauma-informed practitioner and mentor for women, working with those facing the aftermath of trauma, burnout, anxiety, relationship patterns that keep repeating, and the feelings of having lost touch with their body and their own life. I offer 1:1 sessions in Amsterdam and also via Zoom, as well as Women's Circles, ceremonies and retreats.

Shaped by over two decades of study and training, my work draws on a range of approaches, including somatic practice, depth-oriented inquiry, hypnotherapeutic, guided imagery and active imagination work, ritual and embodied integration. I describe it through the Rest2Flow Framework below.

At the core of my work is a woman's safety and integrity, and the understanding that transformation has to be lived within the body and not only understood through the mind.

The Rest2Flow Framework

A living map for wholeness and returning to yourself.

Rooted in elemental and four-direction traditions that have informed my therapeutic, ceremonial and women’s-wisdom training, Rest2Flow is my own integrative approach to women’s healing and personal development.

It works with five connected dimensions of experience: mind, energy, emotions, body and centre. Together, they offer a way to understand the patterns that keep us stuck, reconnect with our own rhythm, and make choices from a more grounded and truthful place.

When one dimension is neglected, we can feel fragmented or pulled away from ourselves. When they are brought back into relationship, we can find greater steadiness, coherence and choice.

 The Five Dimensions of Rest2Flow

Each dimension offers a different doorway into one's healing, self-understanding and change. Furthermore, together, they support a more connected relationship with your body, emotions, inner world, energy and centre.

Earth: Embodiment & Archetype

The body, life phases, cyclical wisdom, grounding and lived practice

Earth represents the body and the lived phases of a woman’s life. It is where insight becomes lived practice: in breath, rest, action, boundaries, rhythm and the choices made each day.

I work with the body as more than something to manage or improve. The body carries memory, intelligence, limits, pleasure, grief and a woman’s own timing. Through body-based and embodiment practices, we learn to listen to its signals and build greater steadiness from within.

Earth also holds archetypal and cyclical wisdom. I work with the evolving feminine capacities that arise through the seasons of a woman’s life, not as roles to perform, but as qualities that deepen through lived experience, responsibility and initiation.

When it is welcome and appropriate, I also draw on womb wisdom and feminine archetypal work: gentle embodied, imaginal and ritual practices that invite women to reconnect with creativity, instinct, life force and their own inner authority.

Air: Inner Landscape

Mind, meaning, voice, imagination, hope and intentional vision

Air represents a woman’s inner landscape: her thoughts, beliefs, imagination, intuition, voice and capacity to make meaning of her life.

Many women have learned to silence their own voice or doubt what they know in order to belong, perform or survive. Over time, it can become difficult to distinguish old beliefs, inherited expectations and protective stories from what is truly theirs.

This is also where the inner critic can become loud, and rather than treating it as an enemy to overcome, I meet it with curiosity; as a protective voice that may have developed to keep a woman safe from shame, rejection or harm.

In my work, Air creates space for reflection, insight and future visioning. We meet the mind with compassion, so clarity, hope and a truer voice can return: the capacity to name what is true, imagine a different future and make choices from one’s own centre.

Through the breath, sound and embodied attention, we may also explore how voice becomes a pathway back to expression, creative life force and inner authority.

Spirit: Centre

Self, soul, inner alignment, meaning and relationship with the Great Mystery

Spirit, in the Rest2Flow approach, is the centre: the place where mind, emotions, energy and body can come back into relationship.

It also speaks to what I call the Self, soul or inner guiding centre, which is the part of us that is larger than old protective stories, fear or the voices that tell us who we should be. From here, qualities such as calm, compassion, clarity, courage, creativity and connection can become more available.

I understand life as being in relationship with something greater than ourselves, that is, the Great Mystery, Creation, Source, the Great Mother, or whatever language feels true for you. This is not about adopting a particular belief system, but it is about becoming more attentive to the symbolic language of one’s own life: dreams, images, intuition, synchronicities, recurring patterns, creativity and the meaning one makes from one’s experiences.

In future visioning, ritual and depth-oriented inquiry, we listen for what wants to emerge. Spirit supports a woman to discern her own direction, make meaning of her experiences and live in closer relationship with her values, soul and inner authority.

Fire: Sacred Heart

Energy, will, devotion, courage, transformation and creative life force

Fire represents the energy that moves through a woman when something in her is ready to live, create, protect or change, for it is vitality, desire, courage, will and the innate power of transformation.

When Fire has been suppressed, a woman may feel numb, resentful, depleted or disconnected from her own desire. At other times, it may arrive as anger, restlessness, a fierce longing or the sense that the old way of living can no longer continue.

In my work, Fire is not about force, performance or domination, but it is about embodied power, that is, meeting anger with care, restoring contact with life force, setting boundaries and finding the courage to act in alignment with what matters.

Fire also holds devotion and trust, being the willingness to stay in relationship with oneself, one’s values and the life that is asking to be lived. From this place, energy becomes less about striving and more about meaningful action, creativity and change.

Water: Sacred Womb

Emotions, compassion, attachment, grief, connection and creative life force

Water represents the emotional and relational field, where attachment, compassion, longing, grief, trauma and patterns of connection live.

In my work, Water is also connected with womb wisdom. Thus, when it is welcome and appropriate, we may approach the womb as an embodied, imaginal and symbolic centre of creativity, intuition, feeling and life force. This is not a medical concept, nor is it dependent on a particular body or life experience.

A woman’s connection with this inner source is not lost through hysterectomy, menopause, infertility, illness or the many changes life may bring. The womb, as I work with it, can be a living inner capacity, for it is a place of creativity, instinct, feeling, receptivity and connection to one’s own life.

This is where many women have learned to adapt, over-function, disappear, please others or protect themselves in order to survive. With enough safety and steadiness, emotional truth can surface without overwhelm, bypassing or collapsing into the past.

Water invites compassion for what has been carried and a return to deeper connection with one’s feelings, relational needs, creative current and capacity to receive
